Mail-in Donation Policy & Restrictions

Thank you for your generosity and support of Project Hunger Strike! Your donations help us provide essential items to individuals and families in need. To ensure we can distribute items safely and efficiently, please review the following guidelines before sending your donations.

Accepted Donations

We welcome donations of clean, gently used, or new items in the following categories:

1. Clothing & Warm Essentials (All Ages & Sizes)

  • Shirts, sweaters, jackets, coats (seasonally appropriate)
  • Pants, jeans, leggings
  • Dresses & skirts
  • Hats, gloves, scarves, socks (new or gently used)
  • Shoes & boots (new or gently used)
  • Undergarments & bras (New & Unopened Only)

2. Personal Care & Hygiene Items (New & Unopened Only)

  • Toothbrushes & toothpaste
  • Soap & body wash
  • Shampoo & conditioner
  • Deodorant
  • Feminine hygiene products (pads, tampons, liners)
  • Lotion & skincare products
  • Razors & shaving cream
  • Combs & brushes

3. Baby & Toddler Supplies

  • Diapers (all sizes, must be new and in original packaging)
  • Baby wipes (unopened)
  • Baby formula & food (unopened, not expired)
  • Baby blankets & swaddles (clean & gently used or new)
  • Onesies, sleepers, and baby clothing (clean & gently used or new)

4. Bedding & Comfort Items

  • Blankets & throws
  • Sleeping bags
  • Pillows (must be new in plastic)
  • Towels & washcloths (must be new or gently used and clean)

5. Food Service & Distribution Supplies (New/Unused Only)

  • Disposable plastic utensils (forks, spoons, knives)
  • Compartment food containers (for serving meals)
  • Hand/face wipes (individually wrapped preferred)
  • Disposable cups (for hot and cold beverages)
  • Paper towels & napkins
  • Disposable table covers
  • Rubber gloves (all sizes)

Donation Restrictions

To ensure the safety, dignity, and usability of all donations, please DO NOT send:

🚫 Used undergarments, socks, or pillows
🚫 Torn, stained, or damaged clothing
🚫 Opened or expired food or baby formula
🚫 Medications or medical supplies
🚫 Used personal care items (including opened soaps, lotions, razors, etc.)
🚫 Large furniture, mattresses, or household appliances

Packing & Shipping Guidelines

  • Please ensure all items are clean, in good condition, and properly packaged.
  • Place smaller hygiene items in sealed bags to prevent leaks during shipping.
  • Clearly label your package "Re: Project Hunger Strike" to ensure proper processing.
